I have a 2016 S 900. With winter around the corner I want a windshield. I ride mostly in West Virginia along the Hatfield-McCoy trails. I would not use it in summertime except for rain. Thus, I am thinking a good windshield that folds down is what I need. However, I want one that is going to be easy to install and of good quality. Also, I have noticed online that some fold down all the way, while others have hinges that even when down, still have several inches of windshield that stay intact. I would prefer a windshield of this variety as I think the part that stays up would help prevent being flooded with water over the hood when hitting deep water.
On the Polaris website for the S 900 there are only two flip down windshields offered. The first has a part number of Item #2881616. This one is listed at 399.99. The other one is listed at 599.00 as is called Three Position Windshield. It does not appear to have a hinge, just folding all the way down. I'm wondering why this one is 200 bucks more.
Does anyone have either one of these windshields, or can anyone recommend a good fold-down? Quality is of the essence.
Thanks.
